Not a policeman in sight today. Guess the emergency is over. Blair got his identity card through.

For last few days, the area around Paddington Green police station and some underground stations have been surrounded by police, some of them armed. Eeach day I have rushed home and searched news items to try and find out why the police seem to be on high alert. I think I have just discovered why. The identity card got through today. I have a feeling that Tony Blair just needed to remind us all what a dreadfully unsafe place Britain has become. Maybe he should go and introduce identity cards in Iraq. That should stop the daily car bombs.

A couple of weeks ago, I watched a news clip in horror. There on screen were
a couple of large black women intimidating and bullying a frail elder White woman who they were suppose to be caring for. As a Black woman I was ashamed and as a human being appalled that anyone would deliberately treat an elder person in that manner. The women caught on camera by the elder woman's son were duly given stiff prison sentences. I was happy for both the elder and the son that they had got some justice. Yesterday I woke up to hear that 5 policemen who taunted a young Black man with 'monkey' jibes whilst he laid dying in a prison cell were all let off scots free. An independent police enquiry found that the policemen behaved in an "unwittingly" racist manner, that despite the fact that not one of them attempted to help this young man until he was minutes from death. Now they all have the audacity to be objecting to being called unwitting racist. Seems to me that there was nothing unwitting about their behaviour. They all behaved in a deliberately racist manner. Lets cut the bullshit and call 'a racist' a racist. All of them should be tried, found guilty and given a stiff prison sentence, just like the shamed carers.
But of course we all know that ain't going to happen. The state seem to all intense and purpose not to give a dam about the endles suspicious deaths of young Black men in prison cell, and I personally do not know what it will take to weed out covert and overt racism from our police force. When is justice in this country going to stop being colour blind?
