WomanistRants from a Jamaican British Woman Thursday, February 16, 2006The Americans and the British governments clearly do not see the irony in their presence in Iraq. We are reminded daily of why our troops were deployed there. 'To get rid of an evil dictator, someone who tortured and generally mistreated his people'. We seem to have replaced Saddam Hussein with not one person with murderous intent, but several men and women who s have no respect or regard for human life, so happily torture and degrade Iraqi prisoners and cilvilians alike. I wonder what these people are feeling whilst they are being treated so abominably. "Terrorised" is one word that comes to mind. I for one am glad that the papers have shown these attrocities. We the public need to be confronted with the evidence of what is been perpetrated in our name. Our governments first worry predictably is about backlash. What really worries me and all decent human beings is that our governments have sent in a load of trained psychopaths fo fight an illegal war..: posted by womanist 5:35 AM |
