WomanistRants from a Jamaican British Woman Wednesday, October 27, 2004So the Iraqi's are supposed to be grateful for having all those nice Westerners helping them to rebuild their country. Forgive me for being so naive and contrite. I thought those nice Westerners were actually in Iraq working on huge contracts and earning themselves a fortune. How many Iraqi contractors have been able to bid for these massive contracts? This cynical war is also a war to create jobs for the West. If Western governments were so interested in the welfare of Iraq's, they would not have attacked them in the first place, and having attacked them, why not give them the contracts to rebuild their country. Let's face it 'Western Greed' are the operative words here. Did we not learn today that BP is earning £16,000 every minute.
